Children
Add a Child with their birth year. By default, chapter mode is on:
- Appear — usually their birth year
- Leave year — for example, leaving home
- Return year — when they come back into your day-to-day story
While they are away, their glowing tip pauses. When they return, the line continues. If they pass before you, they can still become a star.
After you pass
When the timeline reaches your pass year, child lines hide from the animated sky. Their birth–pass years still show on the ending card, so the record remains even when the light is gone.
Friends
Friends are multiple lines on purpose. Each friend can have:
- A year they enter your life (when you met)
- A leave year when that chapter ends
- An optional return year for a later reunion
You can add several friends — each color is a separate trail across your years.
Always beside vs chapter on
Parents and grandparents often stay on Always beside — one continuous trail from birth to pass. Children and friends usually work better with Chapter on, because real relationships move in seasons.
Try it
Open the studio, add a Child and a Friend, set leave and return years, then scrub through the decades to see the pauses.
